Isn’t that the truth, friends of mine were always “aww I’m so fat” and stuff while I’m literally 40kg heavier. If you aren’t fat, don’t say it out loud that you think you’re fat. It’s all in the head

I did the same thing with my gym bestie, she keeps talking about her being fat and having no ass and it just made me feel like shit so I gym alone now

That’s not valid at all. You have feelings too and it’s totally ok for you to express your self image issues to friends. We don’t magically love our body once the scale is under a certain weight and especially people who go to the gym know that. You never feel fine with your body really. It’s the same struggle for literally everyone everywhere on the scale

honestly that's not a friend. friends openly communicate if something from our behaviour bothers others. I'm sick and tired for everyone who put down others who are working hard to be In the best shape. instead of wallowing in self pity they could be motivated to work as hard as you. even if you have good genes or not, it's not a reason for you to be treated this way. I work out I eat healthy and of course there are some things I want to change and then my colleagues stuff their mouths with sweets and constantly mock me and saying I don't eat although I do? keep your head high and disregard these types of comments dear, you look amazing

Had a ED when I was younger (and let's be real, you never fully recover) and my family it's like that, always taking about diet, being fat, losing weight bla bla... I prefer not to say anything just to keep the peace, but it is true that those comments affect me, they trigger lots of memories... so yeah, I kinda understand your gym partner... But hey, it's NOT entirely your fault sister!!! You didn't know that!!! She could've said something to you, share her feelings, etc. instead of just disappearing...

reminds me of how much my mom and sister hate our eyeshape and would always comment on it negatively especially when i would laugh ( my eyes literally go ^^) so i forced myself to laugh less so my eyes would look "normal" even though i never cared for it before. until a friend randomly commented how much she liked it because she thought of it as cute and endearing. that meant so much to me. i always smile/laugh like that now. a lot of people compliment me on it now ^^

I feel this way about dating and I find that the negativity rubs off and then they go have some success and don’t sit there and say positive things so I realised I absorbed it when I was so positive

Guys, it's obvious that she can and should express her feelings, but it can also be triggering for other people. Honestly, I developed an eating disorder because I grew up watching my mom cry and hit herself because of how much she hated and still hates her body and the way she looks. I learned to talk to myself the same way.
You're really beautiful and you should learn to talk to yourself in a more gentle way, nobody should be ashamed of their look. you can take care of your body without hating it bc of how it looks
