im really really trying. he treats me very well, takes great care of me, and always puts me first. I am fully aware of the reasons behind my behavior. I have a clear grasp of my situation, yet I seem unable to break free from it. he notices whenever i have an episode and offers to help, but I often reject him before he can even finish speaking. Afterward, I regret it, because I don't actually want to be alone when I’m crying. I know I have an avoidant attachment style in relationships, and I truly hate that about myself. Whenever I have an episode, I can feel myself draining him. He is such a wonderful person, yet i’ve become a burden to him. But i really really dont want to let him go.

it CAN work out. you just need to communicate as much as you can. im very avoidant and my boyfriend was the complete opposite. we've both met at a middle now after a long time. If you really love someone, youll make it work. DONT lose hope.

I hate being avoidant. I’m like this, because I believe that no person on Earth would seriously love me. Plus, seeing my parent’s relationship and how my dad has treated my mama. I never want that for me. I’d rather protect myself than be heartbroken over and over again.
