I just did this. It does work! Before I left for my vacation! You have to spread it so thin paper thin. Mine took 39 hours to dry. I put it in a weck jar with a food safe moisture pack thing and it stores in there in a cool dark place for years like that. It’s my back up to my back up. Honestly I’d prefer this over the fridge.

I did this with my starter too! Then I blended the dry bits in my blender and froze them just to be safe haha
