Correction they paint white women as victims when they harm children, because a black woman committed a similar crime in Massachusetts and had the same judge, her case didn’t receive this much publicity and she was sent to prison despite her claiming she was having mental health issues. Lindsay planned to harm those kids, she faked mental health issues, she faked her suicide attempt. Yet we have yt people defending her and placing blame on everyone beside Lindsay who did the crime

Postpartum is important, BUT we have too many resources and she received so much help, you can’t convince me that every medical professional she saw failed her. Postpartum is being used more as an excuse these days & I can’t stand that. Mental health matters but so do the children.

The cvs phone call with the husband is what sealed the deal for me to show that she was not in psychosis at the time . Also learning that post partum psychosis is incredibly rare and almost always within the first 1-2 weeks after birth and Lindsay’s youngest was 8 months old . What’s wild though is her defenders will still argue the literal facts because they can’t stand to hear that she’s actually not a victim here

The fire department drop off has an age limit of like newborn or so many weeks old. Lindsey should go to jail, I agree with you. She should have been honest with her drs and accepted help. Maybe went away from her kids while having mental health issues.

Plus she was 8 MONTHS PP. While psychosis can happen that long after, its rare.

Strangulation is nuts. Watching their life leave their bodies up close and personal is beyond sick!

And “twenty minute insanity “ is not a defense. She knew what she was doing. She planned it. Postpartum depression didn’t become a medical diagnosis until 1994. So mothers who had 14 children in the 50’s and 60’s who raised all of their children with minimal funds suffered from what? Motherhood.

She was very unwell. She does belong in jail. We can acknowledge that PPD/PPP is real while still holding this woman accountable. This should be an eye opener, there should be more resources for moms/parents that are struggling. There should be more support for new moms (such as implementing paternity leave). There also needs to be WAY more resources and research into PPD and PPP. All of the above can be true.

We love a sane reasonable woman. The amount of women telling me it could be me, or any of them, is incredibly frightening and alarming. I had no idea how many women thought like that, and frankly it’s quite terrifying.
