both are image focused (heart triad), both competitive, and e4's passion (envy) can get confused for e3's fixation (self deceit) a lot, since its nearly the same save for e4's attachment to their own perceived lack/deficiency, which the e3 rejects and covers/fixes.

Competitiveness, and if instincts are understood narrowly; sx4s sx fixation for attention could be mistaken for the social instincts. Easiest way to differentiate the two is that sx4 is most likely to want attention out of passion or fixation. So3s tend to be more malleable as it focuses on groups and preferences of the “social area” unlike sx4 that has the sx instinct and will most likely be fixated on a specific passion no matter the possible disruptions
