Milo, whiskas cat biscuits, Cadbury, maggi chicken noodles, just name a few that messed with a good thing, sales plummeted, they tried to go back but the reputation was ruined and it never recovered

Wasn’t it they removed vanilla and altered the vitamins. Then following the backlash they eventually reformulated it once again but not fully back to the formula that everyone liked.

I think there was also a change made to marmite, but that's overshadowed by the shortage that happened when they couldn't get the brewing residue from the beer companies
