I told a man in corporate the other day that I believe late 30s/early 40s moms are the best hires because we work well under pressure, don’t sweat the small stuff and know how to prioritize tasks…. after he looked like his head was going to explode, he hasn’t spoken to me in 3 days 🤣

I'm a senior analyst who recently stepped into people leadership with one direct report whose extremely junior. 1 week on the job he's "joking" about how he deserves a pay rise. Week 2 it's no longer a joke, and he's noticeably aggrieved. We're a year apart in age, I'm at the top of my band meaning I can't get a substantial payrise unless I fully step into a lead role. Apparently instead of recognising that that means I'm just THAT good at my job, it instead means I was handed payrisea and he should be too 💀
