@londonunrushed: Where is the REAL Execution Dock? London mapping experts and historians are still split on exactly where infamous pirates like Captain Kidd met their end. There are three major theories along this street: Wapping Old Stairs shown here, right next to the Town of Ramsgate pub, whose cellars were allegedly used to hold the condemned. King Henry's Stairs, they were explicitly labeled as 'Execution Dock Stairs' on a famous 1746 city map. Pelican Stairs, which are home to a famous riverside pub which has a replica gallows behind it. Where do you think the real gallows stood? Drop your theory below and hit follow for Part 2! Remember, when visiting these areas, check the tides beforehand. At high tide the Thames foreshore is completely inaccessible. #londongems #londonhistory #visitlondon #hiddenlondon #secretlondon
