Nationalism in biological terms to me is a form of tribalism, I’m not sure why he didn’t make that comparison. Back in the day groups of people would stick together because it meant greater chance of survival so you look for security and comfort in those of your same tribe. Maybe someone else can comment on this

I would like to discuss this further. Social animals have a Darwinian advantage. Would Dawkins agree? If so...then.

Does he include Scottish nationalism (snp) and Irish nationalism as a greater evil than religion?

Religion and money are the biggest evils and they are both made up, ultra nationalism up there as well for sure but there’s moderate nationalism, loving and being proud of where your from and self determination as long as it welcoming to all others as well which moderates usually are

Nationalism is violence. A violent projection of one's inadequacies and ignorance onto others. It's a compensation. It also shows weakness in tying one's identity to a meaningless cause, England! Deutschland! Maga! etc and the seeking to belong to a violent group, football, Reform UK. Technically and outwardly we have advanced. Inwardly we are subject to the survival, fight or flight mechanism of mind, and psychologically we have woefully failed to progress as a species.
