Hedge funds were not the reason for the sector downturn. However they accelerated losses in specifically Leopold’s top positions. Some funds discovered SA was the large seller when SA was trying to unwind during the sell off. Once there was blood in the water these funds targeted Leopold’s top positions by dumping these shares into the market, profiting greatly and eventually liquidating SA. This is why jn particular SA top positions ($SNDK, $BE, $NBIS) gapped up triple what other AI stocks did when Leopold was forced to sell
