Yeah…. I found this out the hard way… when I killed a wasp that was in my house and dumped the body outside…. The next day when I was about to unlock my door there was a wasp on the door knob… and there were two more wasp inside my house waiting to jump me…

If it's stung you, then it's already released alarm pheromones and marked you with them. However other wasps are less likely to respond to these pheromones by attacking unless you're close to the nest.

This is true, I ended up being stung by over 12 minutes being stung by 1 and smacking it. I ended up in ER bc they sting over and over.

Pest control tech here.pretty much every bee/wasp/hornet release a danger pheromone that stays on you when they sting you. It basically tags you as a threat and signals to the others to attack.

I think it works when you're near the nest. Because when you're near the nest and a wasp or hornet stings you, it releases a signal telling the rest of the hive to attack
