my archaeologist in Strahd betrayed the party to Strahd, gave him their planned secret weapon and plans, as well as some powerful magic items. Shed been cursed to seek power by any means, so she did. in turn she got 100,000 platinum and a portal back to Faerun so she could build a secret society like the Illuminati and rule it as The Spider Queen ..until it went down none of the party knew, just me and the DM. They were pissed 😁😁😁😁😁

I joined an ongoing game and found out 10 minutes into my first session that my PC’s boss was the rest of the party’s mortal enemy 😳 watching them get suspicious and slowly figure it out was so fun! (Now the rogue and I are best friends)

My Fighter was revealed to be the BBEG after I killed the original BBEG mid-monologue way earlier in the campaign. Their faces were glorious as I sat upon the BBEG's throne in the final dungeon.

Did that with one of my players. It was incredible. I had backup plans in place if he successfully killed another pc but they prevailed over him. Definitely worked shaking up the characters moral right before the climax to the campaign.

I once sold out the entire party. the party was hired to steal a pen from a nobleman by the thieves guild, so while the party planned the theft, my Warlock went to the Nobleman's home and informed him, of the plan. the players were shocked. but it turned out the pen was cursed by a fey, (I forget the Curse it was a few years ago), so I ended up saving the party from it and a screaming Thief.

Our party went out of their way to help our werewolf friend learn to control the power, and they chickened out due to fearing responsibility… next full moon is gonna be wild 😂

My betrayels were never directly at the party just at some off the ones we helped/worked with. An example was a person working for a hostile thieve guild. We convinced them to betray there guild and offered to leave a lot of gold at a dead drop for them. We went and left the money. Later I circled back and took the money. The party was none the wiser and I was 3000 golf richer

I did this during my first DnD campaign, and when I tell you EVERYONE SAID I was apparently the BEST TRAITOR AND ROLEPLAYER FORNIT??
