I believe cultural influences play a role. I notice men from one culture often don't impose women from other cultures within their boundaries. I'm not sure if it would be the same if you were a Nepali woman, not because he would love you less, but because cooking and household chores are expected of a Nepali woman. This shows that a man understands and knows what he can offer a woman, but cultural expectations and so-called "norms" become stronger than love. That said, I am so pleased to see a woman being treated right! Best wishes to this lovely couple! P.S.: I am not generalizing; I am just sharing what I have observed so far.
