As not only an avid cat lover, but also as a Firefighter these comments are ridiculous. She clearly says this is her mother‘s home. You have no idea what the situation is, if she’s elderly if she’s disabled or both a lot of times you don’t get a level 1,2,3 evacuation you can go from nothing to a get out now order with mere minutes notice depending on where a fire starts or how it develops. modern homes are built with materials that have so many chemicals they can burn to the ground in 15 minutes. You can have the best of intentions, but you have no idea how quickly things can go wrong in this situation until it happens to you.

The comments I see on this video is incredibly disrespectful. unless you have been in a situation like this you have no right to say “I would have made sure I grabbed my cat” my house completely destroyed due to a fire. the moment we smelled smoke to evacuating was 2 minutes. the moments we got out of the house the roofed caved in. cats are ESPECIALLY very skittish so looking for a small cat while smoke is blinding you while you are coughing is incredibly hard, you have moments to act you have moments to realize what is happening. you can’t stay in a Burning house for 20 mins trying to find a cat who is terrified and hiding cause of the noise, if you don’t know the tragedy of losing ur house unexpectedly don’t comment and be inconsiderate.

I used to be so critical of people who left their animals behind until my house almost burned down. I got one cat and my mom out, but the other one hid. Everything and everyone was ok in the end, but you just can't judge until you are in their shoes. I hope you find your kitty. ❤️

go back at night when it's dark with a flashlight and a bag of Temptations treats that's the best time to catch a lost cat.. they feel safer coming out under the cover of darkness. You can see their eyes glow when a light shines on it and every cat cannot resist temptations.

There is a group for the Spokane Complex Fires on Facebook. Anyone who has found an animal or is missing one has been posting there and a lot have been reunited. I have seen several cats on there no one has claimed. I wish you all the best of luck. I hope your baby is okay.

To all of you in the comments going off on this subject of the cat - you have no idea what having to evacuate immediately during a wildfire is like. You weren't there, you don't know what was happening in that place and household at that moment. Since you don't the best thing you can do is be quiet if you can't just offer sympathy or support.
