Stephanie Williams, a teacher at Learning Sprouts Children's Center in Duxbury, Massachusetts, testified in Lindsay Clancy's murder trial today about their interactions from September 2022 to January 2023, when her daughter, Cora, was in Williams' afternoon class. Williams is one of the last people who saw Cora and Lindsay before Lindsay killed Cora and her brothers Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months. Prosecutors are seeking three murder convictions against Clancy, whose defense is that she's not guilty by reason of insanity because she was in a psychosis related to postpartum problems. Williams recalled Clancy arriving at the school to get Cora and Dawson on Jan. 23, 2023.
23, 2023. "I told her that Cora had napped, and she had said she wasn't feeling well. That the other teachers had told me that she hadn't been feeling well, and that she was still laying on her cot," Williams said. "She came into the classroom and picked her up off the cot and said, 'Oh, baby, come on, let's go get Dawson and we'll go home.'" Lindsay took Cora to a doctor's appointment the next day. Hours later the children's father called 911 after going a store and restaurant at his wife's request, then arriving home to find her badly injured after jumping from a second-story window. He found the slain children while walking through the home with law enforcement. "Did you notice anything different about her than any of the other times you had interacted with her?" asked Shanan Buckingham, an assistant district attorney in Plymouth County. "No," Williams answered. "In any of the time that you had interacted with Lindsay Clancy from September of 2022 to January 23 of 2023, did you notice anything different about her?" Buckingham asked. "No. She was just a very loving mother who cared about her children," Williams answered. "And did she share anything with you about her family or about anything that was going on in her household at that time?" Buckingham asked. "No," Williams answered. "And you, as a preschool teacher, are a mandated reporter, correct?" Buckingham asked. "Yes, I am," Williams answered. "So, if you were to observe something either on the child or from what the child said or behavior of a parent, you would be required to report that?" Buckingham asked. "Yes," Williams answered. "And as far as the Clancy family went, you didn't notice anything, and you didn't report anything, did you?" Buckingham asked. "No," Williams answered.
