And she killed no one.🤷 the movie says she didn't kill that dude, the BTS SHOWS that she didn't kill that dude(because it was done practically), and a car like that moving at new yorks speed limit would NOT kill a dude.

my personal problem with Jean isn't that they made her a morally gray-ish character. My problem is that the MCU is too scared to give a character actual motivation other than some family bs. "I need to find my sister/avenge my sister" is so unoriginal and boring and kinda stupid so all the "cool and successful" character decisions just seem not as cool and successful. When I saw first trailers and figured out that its going to be Jean, I thought her motivation and story would revolve around her powers, the government, her own protest for minorities (or for herself, at least) but all I got is a "oh yeah government is bad cuz it got my sister. no other reason" I can see Jean as a villain. I can see Jean as a threat, nothing new to her character. But making Jean's only motivation her sister was a big mistake. Unfortunately, even the dialog in the end didnt save the storyline and also also, them not using the word mutant AT ALL was a big mistake to my mind, and it downplays Jean's mutant arc even more, making the whole movie just abt her looking for her sister and fucking up spider man's life (which they could explore too, cuz why is Jean not pissed enough at Spider man being a literal government agent??)

Literally she made a point to say at the beginning she wouldn’t hurt anyone that wasn’t involved so long as they didn’t stand in her way, Then she kills an old guy for no reason. She also has a pretty good sense of her own powers. She only loses control after she has an intense traumatic experience. And comparing BND Jean to Phoenix Jean is stupid. One is a conscious decision, the other is when she’s being control by a cosmic entity who feeds off of death and forces her to commit those atrocities. It’s not the same thing, comparing the two is disingenuous

That guy didnt even die btw or Spiderman wouldn't have said to jean that she didn't kill anyone. And mcu jean is more of an ultimate and teen misplaced jean rather than original at least in this movie so people complaining only read original run and have no media literacy

I’m just pissed cuz if mutants are in this universe WHERE HAVE THEY BEEN Magneto coulda dealt with battle of New York so much easier, he’ll AGE OF ULTRON WOULDVE BEEN TRIVIAL, LIKE COME ON IT JUST FEELS FORCED CUZ OH DOOMSDAY IS COMING UP SO WE NEED TO ADD MUTANTS TO MORE MOVIES! That being said I did enjoy Sadie as Jean I think she did great I’m just annoyed cuz like why was she here there better options for mind control powers to go against Spiderman (Spider Queen anyone?)

Yeah there’s definitely nuance but there’s no reason to sympathize with her character after seeing her violate multiple innocent people outside of a flashback at the very end of the movie, it definitely could’ve been handled better

I mean I still don’t like this Jean. Everything you mentioned has either hasn’t worked (the fox x-men phoenix saga) or worked for other characters that aren’t Jean, and are from an era that Marvel Studios isn’t in anymore.
