She’s clearly desperate for work and uneducated or naive in a way that alarm bells didn’t go off for her when she was applying and accepting checks. Im sure she had proof but the way he was coming at her was obviously making her nervous and scared and causing her to panic and forget where or what the proof is. I’m so upset this happened to her. I hope things turn around for her.

I worked at a bank for many years. This happens more than anyone realizes. People actually believe that the checks are real. Usually the check comes with a letter with instructions, that can prove that the recipient was being scammed. I’ve never seen anyone be arrested for it in my experience.

This happened to me . I called the company and called the person pretending to be with the company and called them on three way. The guy quickly hung up . I called the police as well

Omg I know she didn’t know, and the bank knows that too, why they pressed charges on her, she was so nervous that’s why she was trying to make a story about it, it happens all the time.
