10/10 but can you explain hello kitty, I do like this but I wonder your influence is somehow over the time these characters change from their backgrounds as wholesome to more into horror icons/memes of internet pop culture? I get Garfield but hello kitty hair turning black? is it maybe she grew out of it or perhaps maybe how young women interpret her as a deep sign connecting them to their childhood even if they don't resonate with hello Kitty typical depictions often changing the image for their own. Perhaps maybe it relates how we view both characters over time, association with their makers. Garfield becoming beloved again after a rough period where he is healthy in this depiction and also garf being related to alt spaces (like hello kitty) showing being a example of positive self expression. That hello kitty unfortunately being associated with misogynistic stereotypes about alt/bipoc women/feminine people being demonic. With a company that honestly forgotten about her in my opinion, making her more of a bland sheet so therefore her future depiction is showing that her slowly shedding what makes hello kitty hello kitty. But still she is a comfort character for many just like garf and those depictions so how they been received in the public eye.
