Power creates many enemies, and that is something I learned with time. The moment you stop asking for permission to be yourself and start walking your own road, people begin to react differently. Some respect your strength, but others see your progress as something personal. They don’t always hate who you are—they hate the fact that you kept going while they stayed where they were.
