hear me out...just scrap manuals..its 2026, phase them out, and make manufacturers spend on innovative auto boxes to improve reliability and repair costs..(had full license for 30 years but would never drive a manual willingly)

Coming from someone with an auto license, this sounds incredibly dangerous. There’s a lot that goes into driving a manual that needs a lot of time to learn

but manual cars just work completely differently whatt, you obviously wouldn’t need as many lessons as starting from scratch but you definitely need to properly pass the test!! drivers are bad enough as it is 😭

i domt understand why there are 2 different licenses, all it takes is practice for a couple weeks and then u can drive a manual. I passed as an auto but for free cause my dads an instructor. if I wanna do manual then ill do the test again its rlly ez but all the cars I want are already automatic as standard so I dont see the point

if thats the case ... i have a manual licence i should then be able to have a few lessons on a motorbike and then that can give me the opportunity to ride any CC powered bike.

I guess get some automatic drivers give them a test, give them a few hours in a manual and re test to see if the scores are equivalent. I think they’ll probably do worse with all the multi tasking

or just pass in a manual and then get an automatic. then if you ever want to go back then you can without retaking your test . if you cant do manual then get an automatic .

What a waste of time. Manuals account for only 17% of new car sales so in 5 years time most cars will be auto or electric. They should have thought about this years ago when it was more relevant.
