Three dangerous kinds of faith that could lead you towards hell. Many Christians think they have faith, but genuine faith is not as simple as you may think. If you want to know whether your faith is real, please listen carefully until the end. First: Turning faith into a transaction. “God, as long as You bless me, I will believe in You.” “As long as You protect my family, I will follow You.” When God answers your prayers, you are full of faith. But when God does not do things the way you want, you begin to doubt Him. But genuine faith is not believing because God always gives you what you want. It is continuing to trust Him even when you cannot see the answer. Second: Only accepting the version of God that makes you comfortable. We like to hear: God loves me. God will bless me. God will make a way for me. But when God’s Word calls you to repent, turn away from sin, and obey Him, are you still willing to listen? Truly following Christ is not only about receiving comfort. It also means receiving the truth. If you only love a God who “gives you what you want”, but are unwilling to obey the God revealed in the Bible, then the god you are following may simply be one you have created in your own imagination. Third: Only believing in God when you can see what He is doing. When your prayer is answered, you say: “God really is with me.” But when your prayer seems unanswered, you begin to wonder: “Has God left me?” But faith is not built on your circumstances. It is built on who God is. Hebrews chapter eleven, verse one tells us: “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1 KJV, Genuine faith is not: “I have seen it, so I believe.” It is being willing to believe, obey, and follow even when you cannot yet see. If this message has made you examine your faith, write in the comments: “Lord, strengthen my faith.” And share this message with someone who is struggling in their faith. If you want to know God’s Word more deeply, learn how to build genuine faith, and prepare yourself for the return of the Lord, you are welcome to join our free online Bible study group.
