@reading_tips_for_parents: Does your child do this? ...it is common! If your child starts sounding out the word without identifying the complex sound (in which they know), stop them! Once they pause, ask them to search the word to find any special friends. Once they are able to identify it, or once you support them to identify it, get them to re-read the word saying the complex sound.
