it makes me so upset and triggers me every single time, instead of soothing and helping theyre children they only care about the attention they get

It’s shocking that anyone would even consider showing a child or an adult at a vulnerable moment. There was an awful video on here showing an adult male worker having some sort of breakdown in the street while people were laughing. The comments were horrible too. It made me feel sick. Be sure there are some who would laugh at videos of children in distress too. 😢

I don’t film my son really at all because we never know when he’s gonna explode I do have videos of him that I cherish but as he’s getting older it’s getting harder to get those moments

Right so when Elphaba is punching itself everyone kicks off and says it’s not for the app. But we just turn a blind eye when parents are recording their kids in distress? Madness

I’d never dream of filming Tanner when he’s at his most vulnerable let alone putting it online!!

agree.. this could cause the child to be bullied by school friends if they come across the videos... n imagine when the child is older seeing themselves online being publicly humiliated. x

I’m not defending this in any way . It has prompted this post explaining something I didn’t know. Didn’t know they hurt themselves in a break down.

It’s traumatic for the child and parent the last thing i would think of oh let me get my camera. I wouldn’t even discuss my child’s struggles to people let alone film and post it 🥺 x

I don’t even think to do something like that. Even if a dr asks me my first instinct it to help my child not grab my phone xx

I’ve recorded my son and daughter in past not by choice, didt want too never showed it anyone other then school and gp cause I just felt like no one was listening and what I was dealing with I just needed help and support and I felt like me explaining wasn’t showing what it was really like but I’d never post it anywhere I only did that to get help for them and me

Nope that’s not supporting the child’s best interest, you would put the phone down and get them the help and support they need by ringing the right support services and it’s basically neglect….

As a mom whose child has harmed themselves an me his parent I for my sons dignity wouldnt film awareness can be raised without exposing our children at their most vulnerable x

No I wouldn’t , I have 2 grandsons on the spectrum . When they were very young one would shout and cry the other would hide to the point we forgot he was here . The safe space is more important than the camera .

theres one lady who gives strong Ruby Franke vibes not gonna lie. both my boys have ASD and other difficulties, I would never film them or parade them for clout. it doesn't spread awareness, it raises concerns. well done for calling it out. xx

I think it’s absolutely disgusting to do that, talk about it all means while the child is completely fine regulated and busy when you make a video, but the first thing you think to do in that moment is pick up your phone for awareness, other people’s awareness doesn’t come before your child emotions.

Vile people! Your attention should be 1000% on your child in that moment!! Be there for your child, help your child through that moment and speak about it after once your child is regulated and happy again! 🥰❤️
