Aspiring aerospace engineer here. The rocket is curving because it is using the earth’s momentum as it spins to help accelerate it into orbit, thus maximizing the efficiency of fuel. The reason for the smoke trail running out is because higher up in the atmosphere, there is less and less and eventually no oxygen to produce a flame in the atmosphere, so it simply accelerates without making a smoke trail.
