YESSS, the casting is amazing and show daeron is one of the few likeable characters in the show, but god i miss book daeron 🥹 i would have loved to see the scene of him pouring wine over that dude even suggesting he should be king over aegon

I actually love show Daeron and the way he's written, and I even prefer him over his book counterpart. Why would Daeron still fight for Aegon if he believes Aegon is dead? And Aemond is missing—nobody really knows where he is or what he's doing. On top of that, Daeron doesn't have much of a connection to his father's side of the family. So it doesn't surprise me that he has little interest in continuing their claim. I do understand why this bothers people, though. I'm also frustrated that the show constantly pushes the audience toward Team Black by portraying them as the "right" side. Even when Team Black characters do questionable things, the show often frames them as cool or justified. That's one of the reasons I ended up preferring Team Green, because I really dislike the narrative the show is trying to force. That said, I can still understand why show Daeron would think Rhaenyra should keep the throne. As far as he knows, one brother is dead and the other is missing. He doesn't want to be king himself, and he also doesn't want Ormund gaining more power. From his perspective, letting Rhaenyra keep the throne is probably the simplest way to end the war and prevent even more bloodshed. That doesn't mean I think the show's writing is good. I have plenty of issues with it, but show Daeron's reasoning here actually makes sense to me.

He’s too kind, too gentle, too good of a person that I know there’s something going to happen and I’m ready for his villain origin story. Maybe the death of someone he truly loves, his only family.

the last episode was so frustrating. i was watching and thinking what the hell are the hbo writers doing with this show :( i hated watching alicent&aemond scenes, like genuinely wtf 😭
