single dad here and my only son its currently in boot camp and nothing has been the same and I know things will be different from now on...house is too quiet, i even turn his room light on sometimes just to feel that he is in his room, sometimes I call his name just to hear if he is hungry or not. life definitely dont prepare you for this im just taking it one day at a time but it has been hard. 🥲 and now just the waiting period of whenever he calls, whenever he send a letter, whenever he makes me a grandpa and live all moments all over again but this time with the grandkids 😪

This is so well said! 💗. My daughter is home for two weeks before she reports to her first duty station. She has been so busy and I know we have such little time together. She is spread so thin seeing everyone….every second with her is so precious and saying goodbye doesn’t seem to get easier. I’m trying to make the best of this time and trying not to think of saying goodbye…again! Thank you for posting this! 💙🇺🇸
