In the released recordings, she says the illegal actions she undertook had been ordered by her "boss." Her boss was Budanov. ⠀ The materials also allege that Mudra was told by an unnamed senior official in the President's Office that "corruption shouldn't be fought — it should be controlled." ⠀ Budanov himself has not been charged. Asked about the scandal, he said it was up to the court to decide Mudra's case, without addressing the allegations concerning his own involvement. ⠀ Before joining the President's Office, Budanov consistently ranked among Ukraine's most trusted public figures — and one of Zelensky's leading potential challengers in a future presidential election. Now, he is increasingly associated with the very system he was once seen as standing apart from.
