I currently work 60 hour weeks but was formerly a SAHM, I can confirm these moms are making up tasks. I still take my kids to do things it’s just not a production anymore.

Sure there is some sort of mental load fine but a week for a water park???? That’s wild! An unnecessary amount of stress for no reason

I believe it’s a personality trait. Over-thinkers/ the ones that over prepare. I take my child to a water park and basic ale tell her “ stay safe, don’t do stupid things”

It’s a gd day trip. Sunscreen, towels, change a clothes , snacks and some juice boxes. My god, the hyperbole is absolutely exhausting.

That sounds like a control issue more than a mental load issue.

I commented on the Dadvocate’s video: this is weaponized incompetence. If you have to take a week to prepare for the water park, you’re incompetent. Mental load is real, but most the people talking about it are just weaponizing their incompetence and their anxiety.

Also, if takes someone a week to plan for the Waterpark… that’s self inflicted anxiety.

As a mom I truly cannot imagine what there is to do or consider for a week for a waterpark visit.

Mental load = overthinking = think of the worst scenario before anything happens.

Can we stop with the "mental load" talk? Yes, it is work...it is hard to raise and successfully guide a family. But acting as if the same "issues and things" involved with a 50-60 hour a week job where your main goal is paying for all of it is EQUALLY hard. It's supposed to be a team effort and successful families just do their jobs without all the griping.

And did it not indeed work out???? I’m sorry but as a woman we can for sure be insufferable at times. When I stopped caring, life got so much better

It is like a 17 minute process total, and she stretched it to a week 😂 15 minutes to throw towels, sunscreen and a change of clothes into a bag, and 2 minutes to tell them that if they run off, or if they take of their life jackets, we will be leaving immediately and not going back
