@itvnews: River campaigners say hundreds of fish have suffocated after sudden heavy rainfall flushed contaminants into the water. Fry, carp, pike and eels are among the fish killed in the River Wensum, which runs through Norwich. The Environment Agency said the deaths were the result of low oxygen levels caused by a sudden downpour last week following an extended period of hot, dry weather. A spokesperson said: “Our investigation suggests the most likely cause was a burst of heavy rainfall last week that flushed contamination from drains into the river. This coincided with low river flows and high temperatures, significantly reducing the amount of oxygen in the water the fish need to survive.” The campaign group Wensum Riverkin said it would take years for the river to recover.
someone absolutely dumped something in there the kill all the fish

Saying that the fish drowned rather than water companies polluting the river is crazy

nothing to do with rainfall at all but more to do with toxins and trash that are in the water

Heavy rainfall doesn’t cause fish to die like that something must have been dumped in the river🤔🤔

Black water signals pollution, someone’s dumped something into the water, the heat won’t help as it has a huge effect on Dissolved Oxygen, it makes the water hypoxic (low oxygen) fish need to breath this depleted oxygen without it they go belly up from exhaustion and die.

nothing to do with climate its toxins and chemicals being dumped and leaching into it , people have made complaints for years about this . go back to the 90s 70s 50s and no doubt beyond, hot weather has always been here , the problem is mismanagement of land and solutions from industry, corrupt councils and now AI centres .
