You are right. I own a EV for 13 months and lost $75k when sold. For safety reason, the doors will not open in a fire case. Any accident or replacement of battery after 8 years is $25k in Singapore. Disposal of 100 ton battery or about 20 to 25 cars 100 times more toxic than petrol cars. Our Environment Ministry is not doing a good job in total life cycle cost in environmental studies when the EV is scrapped. Too much EV subsidies just to encourage more EV. At high speed the battery drain is 3 to 7 times higher. Not possible to drive up to Batu Pahat at high speed.
