On November 6, 2024, Monique Gilbertson, 68, was found dead inside a locked freezer at her mobile home in has egas after neighbors requested a welfare check when she had not been seen walking her dog for weeks. Officers with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department entered the home near Vegas Valley Drive and Nellis Boulevard and eventually opened the freezer, where Gilbertson’s body was discovered hidden beneath household cloths. Bodycam footage of the discovery was later released in January 2025. - Police arrested 37-year-old Daniel Roush, who also used the name Jazzlynn Roush and had reportedly been staying with Gilbertson temporarily. He was charged with m/rder, elder ab*se, burglary, and d**g-related offenses. His wife, Gina Lopez, was also indicted on burglary and d**g possession charges. Investigators said Gilbertson had recently become frustrated with the couple over cleanliness issues and had kicked Roush out of the home, changed the locks, and sent messages asking him to collect his belongings. Before her disappearance, Gilbertson had reportedly contacted police after finding a firearm among Roush’s possessions. An autopsy later found extremely high levels of f*nt*nyl in her system, with investigators alleging Lopez admitted they gave her to cause an od.
