Consent and attraction can't be forced or guilted. I treat trans women with dignity as peers, but I don't owe anyone a romantic relationship.

I already answered this as a Dixie but basically yeah it is transphobic, no you're not required to date a trans person but it is transphobic because specifically the biases and issues surrounding your situation to avoid trans people is systematically and socially built This Way to exclude trans individuals.
does that make you a bigot no but how you handle those situations when confronted, does depending on what you do.
I am bisexual and I am Dixie (mainly due to racial reasons due to the fact although I resonate as a black woman I do not like and feel highly dysphoric at the same time due to the fact that my oppressors impose that on me. While simultaneously I cannot feasibly identify with white European standards for gender expression and I refuse to.)
I can recognize I have internalized transphobia, I can also recognize my family members are transphobic (even if they support the community they actively spread harmful stereotypes and is a hostile environment because of it).
I am personally trying to while in the closet to shift them away from stereotypes by educating them about trans people. It is working, and actively I do make sure with my own circle to talk about trans genocide that's happening.
But it is a very important value for me for my lovers to meet my family.
then also as a bisexual I do hold different standards for the people genders I'm attracted to, unfortunately leaving to separation of trans people from CIS people which is wrong even if I don't intend to because, I do sincerely believe gender is a social ideology.
I get deep crushes on trans people like me but I worry due to the challenges that comes with dating a trans person who identifies with the binary, I'm illequiped. Which some of those standards I can recognize unfortunately comes from transphobia because society I grew up in and the environment I grew up in enforces that and it is hard to unlearn.
but I'm happy every single day to see progress, expressly since I am fighting for my younger brother who happen to be part of the binary of trans people.
trans people can be in straight or gay relationships because their gender identities doesn't coincide with their sexuality, still queer.

So I’m gay for multiple reasons. 1, it disgusts me to think of girls romantically. 2, I’m gay because of the genitalia. 3, guys are hot. It’s not transphobia if I wouldn’t date a trans person unless they looked like a man, had male genitalia, and had male hormones, right?

literally identical discourses. the fact that people will fight to defend one and not the other is extremely telling

I still remember when the exact trans discourse happened back in 2020 and not even the phrasing changed a bit, I’m so sick of the whole damn acronym cycling through the same questions every 6 years

Biphobia and transphobia often go hand and hand, a biphobe is most likely a transphobe. They use the same arguments

My only take is that straight women for whom this is a problem should disclose their preferences up front instead of making assumptions, but I know they never will

Said this in one of the biphobia discourse vids and got people fighting with me on it. The point is, even if that person is your ideal person in EVERY SINGLE WAY but the ONLY reason you wouldnt date them is because of their identity is very bigoted.

ive been thinking about this the entire time. other queer folks act like what happens to trans people doesnt affect them, but the exact same rhetoric is now being redeployed for bi men. this rhetoric harms trans folks the most but it has always haunted the entire queer community
