Meanwhile, anime created Afro Samurai — a lone warrior on a revenge quest through feudal Japan. 🗡️ Yoruichi from Bleach — former captain, head of a noble clan, the fastest fighter in the entire series, literally called the „Goddess of Flash.“ ⚡ Canary from Hunter x Hunter — afro-textured hair, sharp tuxedo, deadly combat skills as a teenage bodyguard. Her look was so iconic that fans noticed Rihanna’s ANTI tour poster mirrors Canary’s exact design. 👀 Same world. Same audience. Completely different respect. 🎯 This isn’t about saying Japan got everything right. Mr. Popo exists. But when anime commits to a Black character, they commit to the DESIGN. The hair is intentional.
