@beaconpostpartum: Is 3am the loneliest part of postpartum…or does it just feel that way? 🌙🤍 I used to think there was something uniquely awful about 3am. Not midnight. Not 5am. Three. It’s that strange hour where yesterday is over, tomorrow hasn’t started, and somehow every worry in your brain feels louder than it did during the day. Your baby’s crying. The bottle is warming. The pump is running. Your coffee from this morning feels like it happened a week ago. The house is silent. Everyone else seems asleep. And your brain starts telling stories. “I’m the only one still doing this.” “Everyone else’s baby sleeps better.” “Why can’t I handle this like everyone else?” “Maybe I’m just not cut out for this.” Looking back, none of those thoughts were true. They were just what exhaustion sounded like. Sleep deprivation changes everything. It makes small problems feel enormous. It convinces you that temporary things will last forever. It whispers that everyone else has figured motherhood out while you’re barely keeping your head above water. But here’s what I wish every new mom knew. At 3am… You are almost never alone. Somewhere another mom is rocking a baby who refuses to sleep. Someone else is breastfeeding under the glow of a night light. Someone is washing pump parts in their kitchen sink. Someone is pacing circles around the nursery hoping this next lap will finally work. Someone is crying quietly because today felt impossible. Someone is smiling because their baby just slept their longest stretch yet. Thousands of completely different stories. All happening at the same hour. We just never get to see each other. That’s what inspired one of my favorite parts of Beacon. The map. Every glowing dot is a real mom. Not an influencer. Not a fake account. A real mom who’s awake. Maybe she’s feeding. Maybe she’s pumping. Maybe she’s comforting a baby with reflux. Maybe she’s just scrolling because she’s desperate to know someone else is awake too. When you light your Beacon, you’re doing something bigger than you realize. You’re telling another mom: “I know this hour feels heavy.” “I know you’re exhausted.” “I know your arms are tired.” “You’re not carrying tonight by yourself.” It’s such a tiny action. But postpartum is made up of tiny actions. A warm meal. A kind text. Someone holding the baby while you shower. A five-minute nap. A stranger reminding you that you’re not alone. Those little moments are what get us through. I think that’s what so many moms are really searching for. Not perfection. Not parenting hacks. Not another list of newborn sleep tips. We’re searching for proof that this experience is shared. Proof that someone else understands why 3am feels so emotional. Proof that motherhood isn’t something we’re meant to survive in isolation. If you’re reading this during a late-night feeding… Or while pumping. Or while bouncing on a yoga ball for the hundredth time today… Take a second. Imagine every nursery with a light on. Every rocking chair gently moving. Every baby being held. Every mom quietly doing her absolute best. That’s what those glowing dots represent. Not perfection. Presence. Real women showing up for their babies… And, without even realizing it, showing up for each other too. So the next time 3am starts convincing you that you’re the only one awake… Remember this. Somewhere another mom just lit her Beacon. And maybe… She lit it hoping you’d see it. 💛✨ #mom #baby #MomsofTikTok #momtok #momlife
