yup, and it completely takes away from his ending too. that was my most anticipated sequence and now he just doesn’t even feel the least bit threatening so it’s gonna be underwhelming. like omfg we get it he has mummy issues, they already went over that last season, this is genuinely the worst written season i don’t know what they were thinking

I don't dislike the current 'humanizing him" arc, I think it was always there and we got a glimpse of it in season 2, what I DON'T like is this ridiculous "mommy issues" thing that is sooo OOC, and just a way for Ryan Condal to combine his mommy f*tish and his lust for Olivia. Aemond NEVER had mommy issues, he always had daddy issues, Alicent was the most affectionate to him growing up, we see it MULTIPLE times and Viserys was the one who neglected him, the switch up is ridiculous and only made to make Aegon and Aemond have "parallels" (their similar lines in ep 6) and to further whitewash Viserys. the way he is when he's just with Alys and not thinking about Alicent is how he is and I like that, he was always a bullied kid filled with rage but also so so much hurt, and with his safety blanket (Vhagar) gone, his vulnerability with Alys (who seems like a safe person the same way Sylvi seemed like a safe person) makes sense, they just need to remove this mom/son nonsense
