Never assume :
Hot mist works faster and won’t overflow the drains

That’s exactly how I do it. You left out the part where you spent an hour finding the breaker.

I got myself a adapter so that my hose can hook up to the facet of a hand sink if needed. Works perfect in kitchens that dont have a hose bib near by.

I use a garden one that has a head that you can set to different things. I will purge hot water through the hose and then turn the wand to a mist setting so that way the water doesn’t overpower the drain and you have to wait for it to clear out before you continue on and the mist will create steam in that steam is what helps release the sheet off the back.

I’ve seen the heat trace fail and ice the pipe first, all the way up into the drain pan and then the evaporator.

Before I knew you could do this without damaging anything, I used to fill one of those spray bottles from Home Depot up with hot water and run back and forth haha

How I train everyone to wash and defrost a coil. #1 less mess, #2 if you wash it from outside in you may or may not get all the ice from inside…
