Fighting games are as complicated as you want them to be. You don’t need the combos from the trials they aren’t always practical. Just learn a BnB from a normal you can land consistently and you’ll win more games. Eventually that BnB will be second nature and you can add on from there. Defense is way more valuable than knowing 3-4 different combos

Do not worry about implementing combo trials in your game play. Some times you need to take it easier on yourself and learn a simple combo into a knockdown. Medium, heavy, special, (super if you have resources) repeat. Also the game doesn’t have skill based match making yet. So do not get discouraged if you are constantly losing online. Good luck and have fun.

these types of games are fun ONLY when playing co-op. your friends and siblings weren't meta so there wasn't a skill gap like you see now where regular people can't enjoy playing online

Fighting games are definitely half about the grind, if you don’t enjoy it, then it might not be for you, which isn’t a problem, it’s a niche genre, at the end of the day. Honestly I’d focus on just learning system mechanics and easy combos, before ones that take you hours to land once, since you’re likely not going to pull it off in a match? Your focus early on should be just finding a character you think is fun, and one or two short combos, and other than that focus on figuring out general patterns that your opponents are making

Combo trials are just that. Trials. They aren’t always practical. Just there to either test execution or give you the idea of the characters combo theory

You said you’re trying to learn combos I don’t know anything about this game. I’ve been looking at it. I’m probably not gonna buy it but I have a question. Are you new to this fighting game? Are you or are you new to fighting games in general if it’s the ladder, then you’re going about this the wrong way you need to learn fundamentals, even though every Friday game is kinda a little different. The fundamentals and a mindset doesn’t really change just more so the application and whatever internal mechanics at the game has if you’re starting from completely zero, and you don’t know anything about like footsie’s mind games frames conditioning Oki frame traps you’re gonna have a hard time especially with try hards but also getting destroyed and lunar a lot eventually will make you good as long as you pick up on a while you’re losing. Definitely learned B&Bs though, but all the super fancy long combos can come later ..in time

don't focus on combos just learn what your character does first then you can get into that, I would also recommend Korra since she is easier to grasp and w Zuko you have to manage and earn redemption meter

We have different problems. Out of 15players I might run into decent player with a brain that can block on wake up and not smash buttons on air recovery. lol

Combo trials are not for beginners ngl , fg are most fun when you learn as you go , the game definitely needs ranked tho so beginners can cue with beginners

combo trials mostly exist for the sake of challenge and are not usually practical if I were you I'd look for someone else who is new and play against them until ranked mode drops don't focus on fancy combos but rather using flow for movement and defense

1. There’s always more to learn. 2. If you aren’t enjoying it, don’t play. 3. Random ranked matches or matches with people not in your skill range suck. I would try to find community while you’re learning and do peer to peer. A lot of the core audience for these kinds of games mostly play these games and the skill transfer is high.

yeah ive tried to get into this game as well. im just not good enough. i couldn't even do the basic combos. token is easier for casual players

Your trying to learn the wrong things, try learning neutral, youll be able to win online. Learn combos yes but learn something very simple.
