@mikeytaylor: Is the housing market finally crashing? We just saw a major increase in foreclosures. How big of a deal is this? #realestate #buyingahouse #realestateinvestor
There are many reasons why: 1. There are 4-5 million homes short. 2. People that own a home with a mortgage of under 3 % will not sell 3. Prices will drop but not crash its supply and demand. So to free up supply Congress should allow the baby boomers to move there Mortgage rates to a new house.

Banks are holding stacks and stacks of foreclosures to keep their numbers up and stockholders happy. That’s not the real number. It’s much worse. Carvana and Carmax are slowing down repossessions to keep their shareholders happy.

Too many people waiting on the “crash” and too many ppl stuck in 1-3% interest rate houses they will die in… won’t ever be fixed. We are in a renters economy forever now

Didn’t the housing market crash in 08 because banks were giving out loans to people they knew couldn’t afford it? Like someone making 50K a year getting a home loan for $450K. I don’t think that is happening this time.

No there will be no crash. Why? Because people want it to crash. If people want it, they won’t get it.

For those that have a 2.9% rate or around there, they will almost never leave those.

The housing market doesn’t typically crash like it did in 2008. It has pullback or flat periods which it has been doing for the past couple of years in many markets. Now is the time to buy.

I sure hope so. The greed and delusion of homeowners with unremarkable properties claiming their homes are worth 3x what they paid 2-3 years ago. Overvaluation. Foolishness.

Clickbait. Market is no where near 2008. It’d actually opposite — stricter buyer laws, high ASF interest rates, etc. It’s just an affordability crisis right now, either mortgage rates need to drop or let everything stay the same and sellers will get desperate and drop the prices because no buyers
