I don't agree with you if you apply this view in all life circumstances. in some respects, you can see reality based on the acceptable cultures or norms of the society. some truths are established in life and are not questionable such as natural laws. for example if you do drugs you will be perceived as maniac and if you're lazy you will be perceived as idiot. this is reality accessible to all of us regardless of our ideological beliefs or orientation.

"Reality" for the majority of people is designed by religious and/or political ancestral guidelines. So yes, I am mostly surrounded by idiots.

I struggle with this idea while knowing that we live in a world where the masses are brain washed to believe propaganda that is undoubtedly not in line with reality. How does one discern the difference in a scenario when almost everyone else truly is living in a fabricated and masterfully curated delusion?? 🤔

The useful correction is not that reality is “inaccessible.”
Disagreement only shows that perception is a local, conditioned reading—not reality as a whole.
Different positions, histories, pressures, and configurations make different relations readable. The error begins when one readout is promoted into the thing itself.
Reality doesn’t need consensus to be real.
Your perception is not false. It is local.

This whole argument is an equivocation on the word reality. In one sense you are talking about the reality as the “truth” about the definition relativistic concepts such as speed and politics. But then pivot to talking about “access to reality” which is a more fundamental and less relativistic concept such as the perception of space, matter, or time.

People can have differing opinions without having different perceived realities. Three people see the same doorway, one person who is 6'9" tall says it's too low, the second person who is 4'5" tall says the doorway is quite large, and the third person who is 5'10" tall says it's just fine. They all see the same reality, but just from a different point of view.

Isn’t that something that people like Einstein did? Newton? They doubted everyone’s believes and so they were able to perceive reality different to everyone else?

you would have to first define what you mean by reality.

Not only is George Carlin right but this is my perception when im driving slow OR driving fast. After that I disagree, mainly because 1) Having spoken to people around me, quite a few people agree on a few topics 2) reality is not a question of popularity 3) people are constantly bombarded with lies
