this is the problem. ppl do not believe its a condition. after 4 drs. one has finally heard of it and have finally sending me for diagnosis. its so hurtful when someone just says your fat. eat less move more.. so uneducated.

this is what ive dealt with with the GPs. I walked 20k steps on monday and yesterday I spent most of the day in bed in agony with my legs and ankles. I am over weight but trying to lose weight when your limbs are so sore and inflamed after walking is heartbreaking. thank you for spreading awareness ❤️

I recently had to have a procedure which may have needed a general anaesthetic. Due to my high BMI I needed to have an additional pre op assessment with an anaesthetist. She was great, she knew a lot about lipoedema as her sister has it. She said she would be happy for me to have a general anaesthetic because I don't carry much weight around my face and neck. It made my day 😂

I saw a surgeon today about gallbladder removal and I told her I had lipoedema bmi was representative and she not only knew about lipoedema but agreed with me / a rare moment
