As an ICU nurse, this is how a lot of my intubated patients reacted. Most of them were in soft restraints.

She was intubated. They had to give her a paralytic and other meds to do this. There is absolutely no way she jerked her arm back away from the officer. The officer is lying.

It’s insane that people would think she would react normally when she was moments from death.

So normally when a person is in fight mode/fighting for survival and then they go unconscious. They will normally wake up still in the fight mode and that’s why they will seem erratic and aggressive. She was dying so her brain wasn’t working properly. She probably didn’t know she was in the hospital yet.

She was sedated on a vent following a traumatic injury. She had no idea what was going on.

isnt that also 'withdraw' onnthe Glasgow coma scale?! Its not a conscious response!

Jason Hills :
That's called "withdrawal from pain/noxious stimuli." A person can be unconscious and do this. After a severe neurological injury, the body can be especially sensitive. This is why you don't go to the police when you have a medical problem. It's not their area of expertise...the officers don't know what they're talking about.

Intubated patient with low body temperature don’t have a mental capacity to know what they are doing. What she is responding is agitation to a stimulus from pain, cold (when the police expose her body to the cold) and restraints. Her body is in a fight or flight mode. Her mind is unaware

Of course she was. She was in a coma. It’s a body reaction.

well because she probably had all those medications in her system and just experience a very extreme traumatic and violent experience of what she went through. she probably was still thinking she had to kind of fight for her life
