@sandiegobotanicgarden: Bunya Bunya | Araucaria bidwillii This ancient species produces massive cones that can weigh up to 25 pounds, but what's even more remarkable is what's inside them. Our Chief Science Officer, Todd Michael, PhD, is taking a closer look at the tree's unique cones and the edible nuts they contain. ⚠️While the cones are falling, portions of our Rainforest will remain temporarily closed for everyone's safety. Please stay behind barricades and avoid the area beneath the tree until the cone drop season has passed.
