However, the Luttensee Hitch offers some advantages that make it more versatile in many situations: • Less friction, because the rope runs over rope instead of being pinched between carabiners • Can be released under load • Easy mode switching back to progress capture mode • Can also be used for controlled lowering without additional equipment Despite these advantages, the Luttensee Hitch is still much less known than the Garda Hitch.
