Zendaya can act. She's just not the type who can alter her physicality enough to disappear into a character. She essentially plays herself under different circumstances. She also doesn't get cast in complex roles. She gets small roles in big films because these studios know she'll bring attention to the press tour.

I don’t think zendaya plays the same person in euphoria as she does in challengers as she does Spider-Man or in dune. Those are distinct characters to me.
