Why are people in the comments who don’t have tic/Tourettes trying to tell us how it works. No you don’t have to be born with tics. I developed tics in year 3 and got diagnosed in 2019 my doctor a medical professional told me it is possible to develop them.

Btw you have to be born with Tourette's (it just might not kick in for a few years, it took mine 11 years to start) And you have patterns of tics, like your tics will only be repetitive head jerks or hand jerks, not maybe a hand jerk here and a word there, its always the same few tics on a random cycle, so unless your tic is saying a slur it can't randomly come out which talking to someone who it applies to
