According to eyewitnesses, the man suddenly ran into the roadway from the side, leaving the driver with very little time to react. It is alleged that the pedestrian may have been heavily intoxicated at the time of the incident. Reports indicate that the driver made every effort to avoid the collision. Emergency rescue personnel responded promptly to the scene, where they administered first aid before transporting the injured man to Raleigh Fitkin Memorial (RFM) Hospital for advanced medical treatment. His condition is reported to be critical. Motorists and pedestrians are urged to exercise caution at all times. Pedestrians, in particular, are encouraged to avoid walking on or crossing busy roads while under the influence of alcohol, as doing so can significantly increase the risk of serious accidents.
