I get what you're trying to say here BUT, the rich mom lives in a good neighborhood likely also full of wealthy people who will have nice things to hand down or sell for cheap because it doesn't matter to them. They also live in an area where they can run to the store where the poorer you are the further you usually live from amenities. The rich mom's family will throw her a shower, etc. where the broke mom has to do it herself because she feels like it would be a financial burden to her family. Is it important to see the mindset difference? YES absolutely but it's also important to acknowledge that privilege is irreplaceable and plays a huge role

We are…in the rich group, and I hate buying new baby clothes, the honest diapers were cheap and easy to buy online, I got the stroller off a fb marketplace find and found a bunch on eBay, the crib and changing table was secondhand, secondhand because babies go through these stages so quickly!

Rich mom era. Not purchasing many items until baby is actually here, Facebook marketplace, essentials only. Not doing a baby shower, but a family babymoon instead. Limiting the registry to only essentials. I’m already in use or lose status at work and plenty of sick for extended leave. Honestly hoping to never return to work lol 😆 Husband was recently promoted and our income will be amazing next year

Hear me out….. saving and getting stuff as you need it. Breastfed to save money on quality formula, pick up nice clothes second hand, Picking up the luxury items second hand on Facebook for the cost of budget items and you have more than 9 months to look, borrow what you can, it’s still ok to care about diaper ingredients and ultimate clean diaper are cloth diapers.

Don’t agree with this at all. I applaud the attempt at trying to encourage financial responsibility, but if you are debt free, have savings, and have the extra income to afford it, plenty of “rich” people splurge on items, get excited to decorate nurseries, and buy expensive strollers. Do I shop second hand for 90% of my children’s clothes bc it makes sense and can be fun? Yes. Do I also buy $40 “premium” stuffed animals occasionally and choose pacifiers that are $13 a piece? Also, yes. Life is about balance and learning to live within your means which can look different for everyone.

In the rich category. Very rarely buy new clothes. And only if it is significantly reduced. The only things we bought new was the pram and the car seat. Almost everything else was used.

Fingers crossed everything I need is paid for on the baby registry! I didn’t ask for much and the things I did ask for are cheap. Breast feeding and cloth diapers to save money.

So funny, I was the broke mom with my first born and the rich mom with my second 😂 and we actually were broke with my first and now we make 3x more and I’m so much more frugal
