@bryceedwardbrown: James Cameron Hid a Real Titanic Witness in This Scene In James Cameron’s Titanic, there’s a scene in the First Class Reception Room where J. Bruce Ismay starts telling Captain Edward Smith to increase the speed of the ship. During this scene, you can spot a woman looking at the two of them in the background. This character is meant to represent Elizabeth Lines, a real first-class passenger aboard the Titanic. After the sinking, Lines testified that she overheard Ismay talking with Smith about the ship’s speed and arriving in New York earlier than expected. Her testimony did not prove Ismay ordered the Titanic to speed up, but it helped fuel the belief that he was pushing for a faster crossing, and that seriously damaged his reputation. #jamescameron #titanic #MovieDetails #TitanicHistory
