Heated rivalry is such a beautiful and emotionally complex story and it’s been reduced down to p-rn even though there’s less than 12 minutes of sx scenes within a show with 6 episodes. Even the sx scenes were relevant and had plot importance 😭

Heated Rivalry is one of the most beautiful love stories I’ve ever watched and I think to a degree straight women naturally gravitate to MLM media because it can portray the love interests as equal partners which straight romance always ALWAYS portrays women as the lower party in the couple, THAT SAID, there are middle aged married straight women with young children who are OBESSED with the show, I have seen a grown 50 year old woman make a video saying how she DIVORCED HER HUSBAND because he didn’t think her obsession with the show was normal

it’s very much purity culture. ik a lot of them are probably pretty young and think sex is this scandalous thing but the sex scenes do serve a purpose to the narrative. it’s karma that the reviews for leviticus are focusing on the one sex scene and the fans are getting irritated that it’s being watered down to that, like yeah, doesn’t feel good does it?

ill never understand the backlash and fetishization HR faces 🥴 I didnt watch it until recently (and I do enjoy leviticus more, but not anything due to HR) and I was shocked at the... lack of sex scenes. they go crazy the first 2 episodes but after that it really calms down. people dont have a problem with shameless, game of thrones, even the L word but as soon as its gay men its "just porn" and it becomes exotic
