I struggled through most of the first half of my life with my mental and physical health. 2023 was my rock bottom. I had never felt so hopeless. I am worlds away from the woman I was then. What I thought I wanted at that time is hard for me to even comprehend now. To get here, I had to let go of everything I thought to be true. I learned to stop dwelling in the past and to start Dwelling in the Devine. Over the past five years, I came off many antidepressants. I stopped abusing drugs, alcohol, and tobacco. I began using food as medicine. I incorporated intermittent fasting. And I started doing the deeper work on my mindset. The biggest shift over the past two years is this: I didn’t know how this was going to turn out. I just knew I could no longer stay where I was. So I put one foot in front of the other and focused on improving myself little by little, every single day. For the first time in my life, I was patient with myself. I had no rigid expectation, only an image… a feeling… of who I wanted to become. I wanted to feel good. I wanted to thrive. I wanted to be the mom my kids needed and to finally stop hiding. The “side effect” of transforming my health has been both mental and physical. At 46, I feel and look better than I ever have in my entire life. What I know now is that my fears about turning 40 were completely unwarranted. I felt worse in my 30s than I do now. I feel better than I did in my 20s. I have energy. I have stamina. I have a healthy cycle. I have a deep sense of aliveness. And I want every woman to know this: It’s not too late. You are worthy. And your best life may still be ahead of you. #over40women #midlifewomen #GlowUp #transformation #sober
